Transmission of certain kinds of advanced knowledge or abilities is the aim of undergraduate studies. But it also aims at imparting the ability to acquire new knowledge or to organize and express properly knowledge already acquired. Nevertheless, the transmission of these latter abilities is often neglected. That is why this paper proposes the use of a method which enables a teacher to help his students to develop these further abilities, while transmitting the knowledge or abilities proper to their discipline or professional field. That is the method of the 88 keys for annotating students’ papers.
